Biography

When John Carroll was born in 1802 in Lincoln, North Carolina, his father, James, was 27 and his mother, Martha, was 26. He married Sarah Delaney Baker on October 4, 1840, in his hometown. They had eight children in 16 years. He died in 1875 in Gaston, North Carolina, at the age of 73, and was buried in Bessemer City, North Carolina
