Biography

Alice Carroll [Carrol] was born about 1851 in Tipperary, Ireland.[1] (About 1843 in Tipperary, according to 1911 census[2])

John Spencer married Alice Carroll on 12 Feb 1872 in Moycarkey, Tipperary, Ireland.[3]

Their children included:

  1. Ellen Spencer, born 6 Mar 1874 in Killenaule, Tipperary.[4] (about 1878 per 1901 census[1]).
  2. James Spencer, born Sept 1876 in Tipperary (about 1879 per 1901 census[1]).
  3. John Spencer, born Aug 1878 in Lanespark, Tipperary (about 1881 per 1901 census[1]).
  4. Catherine Spencer, born May 1880 in Lanespark, Tipperary.

In the 1901 Ireland census, Alice Spencer (50) was listed as widowed, head of household, and living in Killeen (Killenaule, Tipperary), with her children Ellen (23), James (22) and John (20). She was a farmer.[1]
