Biography

On 2 Jun 1900 at the time of the 1900 US Census, head of household Anthony Carroll (age 30, born Jan 1870 in Ireland) was employed as a Fireman and living in a home he rented in Queens, New York with his wife Mary Carroll (age 36, born Mar 1864 in Ireland; son Charles Carroll (age 3, born Jul 1897 in NY); daughter Mary L. Carroll (age 1, born Apr 1899 in NY); sister Ellen Smith (age 34, born Feb 1866 in Ireland); and nephew Patrick J. Smith (age 0, born Mar 1900 in NY). Both of Anthony's parents were born in Ireland; both of Mary's parents were born in Ireland. Anthony and Mary were married for 4 years; Mary had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom were still alive. Anthony immigrated in 1889 and was naturalized; Mary immigrated in 1878. Ellen Smith was Married and had been married for 11 years, and immigrated in 1887, and had given birth to 0 children. Both of Patrick's parents were born in Ireland. [1]

On 29 Apr 1910 at the time of the 1910 US Census, head of household Anthony Carroll (age 42, born in Ireland) was employed as a Clerk at the Post Office and living in a home he rented on 10th Avenue in Manhattan, New York with his wife Mary Carroll (age 48, born in Ireland); son Charles Carroll (age 12, born in NY); daughter Mary Carroll (age 11, born in NY); son John Carroll (age 6, born in NY); and daughter Averina Carroll (age 4, born in NY). Anthony and Mary had been married for 15 years; Mary had given birth to four children, four of whom were still alive. Anthony immigrated in 1890 and was a naturalized citizen; Mary immigrated in 1878. [2]

On 11 Mar 1918, Russel Sage Kinney (age 21, born in Brooklyn, NY) married Mary Ellen Carroll (age 18, born in New York City) in Manhattan, New York, New York, USA. Russell's parents were Everett Kinney and Fannie Jorvett; Mary's parents were Arthur Carroll and Mary Driscoll. [3]

On 17 Apr 1930 at the time of the 1930 US Census, head of household Russel Kinney (age 32, born in NY) was employed as a Checker for a Storage business and living in a home he rented for $65 at 3133 82nd Street in Queens, New York with his wife Mary Kinney (age 31, born in NY); son John Kinney (age 10, born in NY); son Russell A. Kinney (age 7, born in NY); and sister Olive Kinney (age 26, born in NJ) who was employed as an Operator for a Telephone company. Russel was first married at age 20; Mary was first married at age 19. Russel's father was born in England and his mother in New York; both of Mary's parents were born in Ireland. [4]

On 9 Apr 1940 at the time of the 1940 US Census, head of household Russell S. Kinney (age 43, born in NY) was employed as a Clerk at a Warehouse and living in a home he rented for $55 at 3133 80th Street in Queens, New York with his wife Mary E. Kinney (age 41, born in NY); son John J. Kinney (age 19, born in NY) who was employed in Recreational for N.Y.A.; son Russell A. Kinney (age 17, born in NY); father-in-law Anthony Carroll (age 72, born in Eire) who was employed at the Post Office as a Clerk; and mother-in-law Mary A. Carroll (age 73, born in Eire). [5]

Death and Legacy

On 29 Jul 1970, Mary E. Kinney died at 71 years of age. Mary was buried at Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA in Plot Section 2S, Site 3586. [6]
