I am one of the administrators of the Carter Surname Project at FamilyTreeDNA.com.
If this tree is correct, you should be part of our I1 - 01 group that includes the descendants of Nicholas Carter 1629 -1681 Elizabethtown, NJ. There are also descendants of a distant cousin of Nicholas who immigrated to Virginia who are part of this Carter family.
You might consider taking a Y37 or Big Y test to help prove your Carter family tree.

When you have the chance, please add your South Central Appalachia interests next to your name on our South Central Team page. While you’re there, you can read what others are working on and get to know us a little bit. Then join us on the Discord channel – we are a friendly bunch!
Also, please review our Reliable (and Unreliable) Sources for the Appalachia Project to help with sourcing our Profiles as you add or come across them. WikiTree requires valid sources on all Profiles and our Project has certain requirements for sources. Check the Appalachia Stickers Page for tips on adding stickers to profiles. In fact, you can add a team sticker to your own page!
I am always available for any questions or help. Thanks for joining the team.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Mags, WikiTree Mentor
