From Ancestry.com: Obituary, Mrs. Alice Stanton, 80, life long resident of Mexia, died at her home in that community Sunday, July 4, after an illness of about 6 months. Services were conducted from the home. Burial was in Mexia Cemetery. Mrs. Stanton was a member of the Mexia Methodist Church. Survivors are four sons: S.D. Stanton and A.A. Stanton, both of Mexia, L.F. Stanton, Detroit, Michigan, J.L Stanton, Texas City, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Grace Jay, Mexia, five brothers, Locke Carter, Mobile; Hybart Carter, Atmore; Clarence Carter, California; Stith Carter, Walla Walla, Washington, and LIstern Carter, Idaho. Pallbearers were nephews and grandsons.
