Research Notes
Record located for A.M. Carter, shows birth 1845 and death May 26, 1900, which is consistent with Andrew Carter's age and location. [4]
Binkley-335 16:31, 14 September 2016 (EDT): I now have reason to believe his real identity is Hampton A. Pyron[5] Emma's sister Susan married Napoleon Pyron, who had a brother named Hampton Pyron. (Aug. 3, 1859 - Feb. 25, 1890). He died young, find a grave indicates he drowned; he was buried in Clay County, TN. Emma was from Clay County, TN (Celina); this is where her sister married. It is my belief that Emma was married to or had a relationship with Hampton Pyron and had 3 daughters. I believe the relationship or marriage was something that would have brought her shame, which is why she changed their names to Carter.
