John L. Carter was born November 26, 1723, in Bradford, Chester County, Pennsylvania, a son of George Carter and Elizabeth Tull. married January 11, 1712, in East Bradford Township, Chester County. [1] John is named in the Will of George Carter, dated December 24, 1726 [2]

John Carter married Hannah Dorcas Cope. a daughter of John Coope or Cope, on February 10, 1746, in Naaman's Creek, Pennsylvania. [3] Hanna(h) was born on April 25, 1724, in Bradford, Chester County, Pennsylvania and died on 10 October 1817 in Naaman's Creek, Chester County, Pennsylvania at age 93.
