Biography

Susanna was born 18 Dec 1787 in Powhatan co VA. . She was the daughter of John B. Carter and Elizabeth Mosby. She passed away in 27 July 1852 in Fayette co Ky in the town of Athens. Susan Carter was single and the daughter of John B. Carter of Woodford co Ky. The 1850 census shows her living with her nephew and niece Allen Carter and Georgeann [Sparks] Carter in Fayette co, Athens, Kentucky. Allen Carter was the son of John Mosby Carter and Grandson of John B. Carter the father of Susan Carter and of her sister Elizabeth Carter who had married Archibald Sparks. Georgeann's mother Elizabeth [carter] Sparks had died young and Georgeann and her siblings were raised by her grandfather John B. Carter of Woodford Ky and she later married her first cousin Allen Carter in Woodford before they moved to Fayette co Ky. By 1880 Georgeann and Allen Carter had moved to Indiana.

Sources

dob source is the pension papers of her father John B. Carter who included his family register in his application. Susan's dod comes from the Kentucy death records for 1852 which shows her dying of cholera on 27 July 1852 which also proves her parents were John B. Carter and Elizabeth [Mosby] Carter.
