Sarah was the daughter of Edward W Carter (1820-1846) & Mary Ann "Polly" Wells ( 1822-1846)
After her parents died she was raised by her grandparents, Jonathan Wells Sr (1791-1869) & Mary "Polly" Jones (1789-1856)
She had one brother Thomas Alexander (1843- bef 1850)
She is buried in Peaceful Valley Cemetery, Odin, Marion , Illinois
He parent, grandparents & brother are all buried in Wolf Prairie Cemetery in Jefferson County Illinois
