Biography

George was born in 1746.

He married twice:

First, to Martha Maggs at Kilmersdon on 3 April 1774. [1] She died in 1788. [2]

Second, to Elizabeth Dore at Kilmersdon 24 September 1789. [3]

It seems that George and Elizabeth had a daughter Betty baptised at Kilmersdon in 1790 but no other children. (There are children to a George and Elizabeth Carter at nearby High Littleton but that is a different family.)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:

Carter-45305 and Carter-24622 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates, same spouse (derivative spelling) same son

Carter-45305 and Carter-29410 appear to represent the same person because: These are possible duplicates only. Some sources would help to determine if this is the same man married twice, or two different people with just the same name.
