Hello

Dennis Sears (Sears-11599) is married to my father’s cousin Mary (Carter) Sears.

I would appreciate your assistance with connecting Dennis to other Sears relatives in Wikitree.

Thank you

Hello! Please check your email to find a message from me. (Sometimes they get placed in your spam folder.) I'd like to offer help and address any questions you might have as you continue your journey on Wikitree. Deb ~ Wikitree Mentor/volunteer
Hi Kenneth,

You have created several pre-1700 profiles using only "Ancestry.com family tree" as a source. Please do not create any more without providing a proper source upon creation. Profiles and trees from sites such as FamilySearch, Ancestry, Geneanet, Geni, etc... are not acceptable as sources for Pre-1700 profiles. A reliable source provides sufficient information for another researcher to find and confirm your research. This is the link to a Reliable Sources page that has the various projects sourcing guidelines. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Reliable_Sources_for_Pre-1700_Profiles We are counting on you to help make WikiTree the best site for accurate information. Thanks!

Thank you for the information. I need to obtain the source information from my uncle who is the one who created the Ancestry.com family tree that I am referring to.

Kenneth, please remember and refer to the Help-Pre-1700 Profiles Page that Pip Sheppard gave you the link to. It will help you learn how to source. Family trees are not a source that can be used on pre-1700 profiles. Thank you.

Hello, Kenneth!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s VERY IMPORTANT to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Happy Saturday!

Since you've been with WikiTree for a few weeks, I wanted to check in and see how you were doing. The New Member How-To's are available for you to look through if you would like. I hope you find them helpful. If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, don't hesitate to ask. Click on my name above and ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
