Reginald Leslie Leonard Carter was born in 1896, in New Zealand.[1]He was the son of Charles Carter and Emily Allington.
Reginald served in the New Zealand Army as a Trooper for the 36th Reinforcements, Mounted Rifles Brigade in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. His occupation upon enlistment was Shepherd/Civilian. His military record states his embarkations as follows: WWI 21 February 1918 - 4 April, 1918 to Suez, Egypt. Also, Moeraki 21 February 1918. He is listed as having served in both WWI and WWII. The Moeraki was transhipped to Ormonde at Sydney, bound for Suez in 1918.[2][3]
In 1920 Reginald married Louisa Gladys Levenston in New Zealand.[4]
Reginald passed away on 22 September, 1968 in Napier, New Zealand.[5]He is buried in the RSA section of the Hastings Cemetery. Plot Number AA65.[6]
