Thomas Carter married Mary Ann Frost of Axminster, Devon about 1837 place unknown. Mary is recorded as having been in Australia for 22 years at the time of her death. She may arrived about 1840. (as per Death record).
A daughter Matilda Sarah Carter was born 29 May 1841 (Ancestry.com. Australia, Births and Baptisms, 1792-1981 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2014.) and baptised in October 1843.[1] Their son Albert was born about 1848.

Thomas Carter died at his home in 1873 aged 74. He was buried at Barrabool Hills Cemetery.
