Biography
Emma Bond Carter was born in Brampton, Huntingdon in the 2rd quarter of 1855. Her mother's maiden name was Tolliday; her father was Thomas Carter.[1]
Emma married George Richard Bellamy on 26th December 1876 at St Georges Leicester. George was 26 from Manchester and Emma Bond was 21. This is recorded in the record district of Leicester.[2][3]
On March 26th 1881, their daughter Edith Emily was born. Four months later on July 29th, she was christened at Christ Church, Harpurphy, Lancashire. They were living at 42, Derby Street [4]
On March 3rd 1888, their son and daughter, Percy Richard and Mary Hilda, were christened together at Didsbury, Manchester [5][6]
In 1891, she lived in Christchurch, Didsbury, Lancs, with her husband George R Bellamy and their 6 children - Maudie Marie Lucy Bellamy (F 12), Edie Emily Bellamy (F 9), Gertie Frances Bellamy (F 6), Percy R. Bellamy (M 4), Hilda M. (F 3) and the baby Sydney George (M 1). They were wealthy enough to have two servants - Annie Trickett (28) and Ellen Clayton (17), both from Yorkshire.[7]
By 1901, she had moved to , Lancs in the parish of St Cuthberts. She still lived with George and seven children. Maudie was still there aged 22 and the new addition was a daughter - Grace Mildred, aged 5. Now they only had one servant - a local lass, Annie Barlow, aged 18. [8]
By 1911, She has moved again to Blackley, North Manchester, Lancs, where she house kept her family, husband George and 5 children - Maudie, Emily, Gertie, Sydney and Grace. [9]
She moved at some point to Chapel en le Frith in Cheshire, where she died in 1943, aged 83. [10]
