Hiland Mann Carter was born on August 10, 1832 in Stratton, Vermont.[1] He was the son of Leander Carter and Nancy Richardson.[1]
Hiland died on May 12, 1903 and is buried in Hope Cemetery, Saint Paul (Neosho County), Kansas.[2]
