James Carter of Hinderclay, Suffolk, left a nuncupative (spoken) will dated 8 Sep 1655. He was described as a yeoman of Hinderclay and "being by misfortune, wounded in body". [2]He made bequests to:
the children of my brother Thomas Carter, who is now in New England
the two sons of my brother William Stubbs of Harleston, by his late wife, my sister
his two daughters
my wife's kinswoman Frances Edwards
James was buried on 11 September 1655 in Hinderclay, Suffolk, England.[3]
