Biography

Alexis arrived from Canada to the US in 1897 and became a naturalized citizen of the US on 16 Aug 1902.

Alexis married Leontine (Perrault) Cartier on 25 Nov 1889 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Ware, MA. The wedding was officiated by Father Sheehan.

They were the parents of Osa Cartier , Eva (Cartier) Picard Hermina Cartier, Sylva Cartier, Marie Cartier, Aime Zebedee Arthur Cartier, Donat Cartier, Dosithe Cartier, Sister Maria V Cartier, Alexina (Cartier) Lavallee, Arzelia (Cartier) Chauvin and Cecile Cartier born in Rhode Island around 1907.

Death

Alexis drowned in Harris Pond in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. One source states that Alexis died on August 10, 1910 and another states he died on August 7, 1910. He is buried in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. His grave is unreadable.

The source lists Alexis Cartier as Alexander Carthier and Leontine Perrault as Seontine Perrault. Their parents names are slightly off as well, but their names are close enough to know this is the correct marriage record.
