Mary was born in 1925. She passed away in 2005 at the age of 79. Mary treasured her 57 year marriage to the love of her life, Joseph Gennusa, Sr who passed away in 2001. She is a beloved mother of 4 children. A home maker, born in Wilmington, DE she was a long time member of Corpus Christi Parish and a possessed a deep faith which she instilled in her children.

Mary Evelyn (Cartolano) Gennusa, age 79, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully, March 7, 2005 at home surrounded by her family.

Mary treasured her 57 years of marriage to the love of her life, Joseph Gennusa, Sr., who passed away in 2001. She is the beloved mother of 4 children, Joseph (MaryAnn) Gennusa, Jr., Vincent (Sandi) Gennusa, Linda Malatesta, and Anthony (Kimberly) Gennusa. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Molly Cappelle and Sue Donofrio; and a sister-in-law, Helen Cartolano. Mary was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Malatesta.

Mary was a pround mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren's school and sporting events. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow to be young adults. She will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Kari, Erika, Nicole, Dana, Michelle, Joseph, Daniel, Vincent, Jeffery; her 6 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.

A homemaker, born in Wilmington on May 30, 1925, she was a long time member of Corpus Christi parish and possessed a deep faith which she instilled in her children.

Mary and her beloved husband enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with the local UAW 435 Retirees. As a young lady she worked in a leather factory in Wilmington and later worked in the family store.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, on Saturday, March 12 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at St. John the Beloved, Saturday starting at 9 am. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Heartland Hospice Services, 261 Chapman Road, Ste 100, Newark, DE 19702.
