Isabelle was born in the 1980ies and is doing genealogical research at least since 2002, when she first had free access to the internet. Her genealogical interest started in early 5th grade at age 11, when she had to draw a family tree in history class. She wondered if three generations would be all? After one school year in Eastbourne, East Sussex in England, Isabelle completed her apprenticeship after 3 years in 2006 and is since then working as a librarian.
Her place of origin (Heimatort) at birth is Sumiswald in Canton Bern, Switzerland.

Genealogical Research

I'm doing research on following familys:

  • Caruso from Larino and further back from Castiglione Messer Marino, Italy - all descendants researched by myself and added to WikiTree
  • D'Alessandro from Larino and further back from Fossalto, Italy - partly researched by myself and added all to WikiTree
  • Jörg from Sumiswald in Canton Bern, Switzerland - completely researched by another genealogist, but not yet online and only small parts on WikiTree
  • Freiburghaus from Neuenegg in Canton Bern, Switzerland - completely researched by another genealogist - partly online on his website https://www.freiburghaus-roots.ch/
  • Wyss from Arni in Canton Bern, Switzerland - all descendants researched by myself, but not yet added to WikiTree
  • Keller from Schlosswil in Canton Bern, Switzerland - all descendants researched by myself, but not yet added to WikiTree

Ciao! I created a thread for the Italy project teams here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1091444/italy-project-teams-assemble

I hope you check it out. If I have you down for a team, let me know. If you still haven't decided, feel free to comment. Thanks!

Hi Chris! Thank you for the update. As I'm in the team that translates the German help pages, I don't have time for another project right now. But please feel free to ask again. Later I might be interested in joining a team and working on profiles in the Molise region of Italy.

Ciao! This is just a general check-in for members of the Italy project. I am checking to see who is still interested in being a member of the project as we go through some much needed restructuring. I was also wondering what teams you would like to be on. We’ve created teams for each part of Italy. North, South, Islands etc. They will be explained further in an upcoming g2g post. Stay tuned. For now, please let me know if you are still interested in the project and if you’d like to be a member of a team.

Dear Isabelle

Thank you so much for the extensive investigation and excellent and exact summaries you made. I was astonished to get to know so many new details about my ancestors. Andreas Tobler

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

Because Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches date of profile and avoid abbreviations. Citations & links for sources enable verification of data please add from wiki ID go to Research to find sources

Thank you for joining the Italian Roots project

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic please read the goals & tasks of the project

Thanks Isabelle for joining us! I’m Cindy, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Mentor

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

As you have been a member of WikiTree for about a week now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Karen ~ WikiTree Messenger

Thank you for volunteering. You are now a full member of WikiTree.

Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:

Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
