Biography

Gregory was born about 1906 in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, He was the ninth child of John Thomas Carvill and Ellen Teresa Carrolan. ^[1]

In 1936, Gregory was living at 66 Davison St, North Richmond and Ethel was living at 178 Vere St, Abbotsford, a distance of approxitely 7km (as the crow flies) between them. At the time of their mariage,in 1941 Gregory was living at 9 Davison St, Richmond and Ethel was living at 77 Buckingham St,North Richmond, only a couple of hundren metres away. ^{[2] [3]}

Gregory and Ethel were married on 4 January, 1941 at St James Church, North Richmond. Greg was employed as an Iron dresser at the time. ^[4]

They lived at 77 Buckingham St, Richmond after their marriage. By 1954, they had shifted to North Essendon and Greg was employed as a Storeman, an occupation he pursued until his retirement about 1972. After his retirement they lived in Auburn Road, Hawthorn. ^[5]

He passed away after 1990.

1. On electoral roll in 1980. No death notice on Victoria BDM up to 1990, so probably passed away sometime between 1990 and 2001. A family tree on Ancestry has: died 10 April 1997, Box Hill, Victoria, but no citation.
