Admiral Plantagenet Pierrepont Cary, 11th Viscount Falkland was born September 8, 1806 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England the second son of Charles John Cary, 9th Viscount Falkland and his wife Christiana Anson and was baptized on September 20, 1806 In Great Yarmouth. He entered the Royal Navy in 1820, won the
Burmese War Medal and was promoted through the ranks, becoming an Admiral in 1870. In the 1841 census of Westminster, Saint James he is recorded as being 35, and in the Navy. He is recorded as having been born in Ireland, but the parish records of Great Yarmouth show otherwise, He was married to Mary Ann Maubert in 1843 in the Parish of St George Hanover Square, Middlesex, England. There was no issue from that marriage.
