Biography
Austin was born in 1809. He was the son of James Cary and Hannah Wales. He attended Amherst College in Amherst Massachusetts to study Theology, graduating in 1837. He married Catherine Phelps of Windsor, Connecticut in 1842. He was minister of the Congregational Church in Sunderland Massachusetts from 1840-1849. He passed away from typhoid fever on November 27, 1849, leaving behind his widow and two sons, Austin and Willie.
