Biography

Calogero lo Cascio is born and baptized on 19 December 1824, named after his maternal grandfather. He is the son of Girolamo lo Cascio and Biagia Guzzetta. His godparents are Benedetto and Francesca Gulotta, a married couple.

Calogero marries Gaetana Sanzone on 14 April 1850. His parents are still living.

Calogero and Gaetana have at least four children together: Biagia (1851), two sons named Girolamo (1852 and 1856), and Calogero (1854).

Biagia is born and baptized on 16 February 1851. Her godparents are Giovanni Gennaro and Giovanna Lisotta, a married couple.

The first son named Girolamo is born and baptized 29 November 1852. His godparents are Angelo Cascio and Biagia Guzzetta. He dies at two days of age.

Young Calogero is born and baptized Calogerum 27 February 1854. His godparents are Antonius d'Anna and Rosa Gennaro.

The second son named Girolamo is born 17 November 1856 and baptized Hieronymum the next day. His godparents are Benedetto (Benedictus) Cascio and Maria Terregrossa.

He dies on 3 August 1860 at three years and nine months of age.

Biagia marries Michaelangelo Leggio on 13 April 1874. Calogero has passed away by this time.

Gaetana dies at age 70 (b. 1829) on 12 April 1899, the widow of Calogero.

Calogero, the son, dies at age 47 (b. 1854) on 18 May 1901. His wife, Rosa, survives him.[1]
