Giuseppe Cascio is born 21 November 1876 and baptized Josephum the next day. He is the son of Francisco Cascio and Calogera Marino. His godparents are Antoninus Rizzo and Cecilia Frisella, a married couple.[1]
Giuseppe marries Lucia di Frisco, the daughter of Luca and Pietra Mancuso, in New York on 13 September 1906.[2]
Giuseppe and Lucia have at least two children, Calogera/Carolina (1907) and Pietra/Pietrina (1909).
Calogera is born 26 August 1907 in Manhattan, named after her paternal grandmother. Her father is reportedly 28 (actually, he is 30) and her mother is 20 (b. 1887).[3] Her baptismal record records her birth as 22 August 1907. She is baptized at St. Lucy's Church in New York on 8 September 1907. Her godparents are Gesualdo Sirici and Angela Sirici.[4]
Calogera is called "Carolina" in the record of her marriage, which gives the same birth date as Calogera's baptismal record, 22 August 1907.
Pietrina is born on 22 July 1909 and baptized on 1 August 1909 at the Church of Saint Lucy in Bronx, New York. Her godfather is Biagio Cascio[5], her uncle.
Carolina, age 19 (b. 22 Aug 1907), marries Giovanni Grizzaffi, from Corleone, on 24 February 1927 in Manhattan.[6]
