Mary Elizabeth Casey was born on 30 Oct 1850, the daughter of John Casey and Louisa (Smith) Casey. Her birth was recorded in 1866 in the vital records of Livermore, Maine,[1] but the 1860 Census shows her birthplace as Massachusetts.[2] The 1899 Hinds genealogy says that she was born at East Randolph, Massachusetts,[3] and her death record gives her birthplace as East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.[4] In September 1850, a month before her birth, her parents were recorded at Randolph, Massachusetts.[5]
Marriage
Mary E. Casey married William H, Sawtelle.[6] They married at Livermore, Maine, on Mary's 23rd birthday, 30 Oct 1873.[3][7]
Death
Mary E. (Casey) Sawtelle died from a cerebral hemorrhage at Auburn, Maine, on 8 Sep 1921, with her age at her death recorded as 70 years, 10 months, 8 days.[4] Her gravestone at the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Auburn is inscribed with the dates 1850-1921.[8]
