Biography

James Cason's Will executed 2/5/1720, Probated 8/1/1722 names his children and grandson as heirs. The following transcript was prepared by Terri Oguz:

l In the name of God Amen and in the year of our lord 1720, February ye 5th, I James Cason of Princess Ann County being sick and weak in body but in and sound and perfect mind and memory I thought fit to settle and dispense of all my worldly goods first recommending my soul into ye hands of almighty God who at first gave it and my body to ye earth to be buried in a Christian manner. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Cason one hundred and fifty acres of land whereon he now lives to him and his heirs forever it being his full part. Item. I give to my son James Cason and my three daughters Elizabeth Whitehurst and Susannah More and Dyner Wilber to each of them one shilling a piece it being their full parts. Item. I give and bequeath to my grandson Cason Moore one young ewe. Item. I give and bequeath to my son William Cason one hundred and fifty acres of land whereon he now lives to him and his heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath to my son William Cason and his heirs all my movable estate beaeth within said acres and without and do make and ordain him my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking all others and keep unto this only the day and date above written.
