He married Melinda burns 17 Jan 1830. Melinda Burns is the daughter of thomas and elizabeth (Ridgeway) Burns. Eleven children were born to Ambrose and Melinda 8 of the 11 were alive in 1881.

On 8 Jun 1880, John E. Constant, enumerator for Buffalo Hart Township, Sangamon County, Illinois reports Ambrose B Cass household in between Frank Durforn and Harry Cass households.[1]
Ambrose B Cass 69 (1811, self, married]] b. Kentucky; father born in North Carolina and mother born in Virginia.
Malinda Cass 71 (1809, wife, married) b. Kentucky; father born in Virginia and mother born in South Carolina.

No change in family # or household # for next family thus both families living in same location. [2]
Marion Cass 28 (1852, self (son of Ambrose and Malinda), married) he and both parents born in Kentucky.
