Patrick Cassidy was born prematurely on 7th January 1888, the son of Mary Cassidy. His birth was registered at Sandhurst (Bendigo), Victoria. Following a maintenance case, where the delivering Doctor confirmed the child's early arrival - by some seven or eight weeks - Patrick O'Loughlin overcame his suspicions, and married Mary Cassidy during 1889. [1] [2]
In 1918, now known as Percival Patrick O'Loughlin, he married Lillian Ferguson in Victoria. [3]
Percival passed away in 1976, aged 88. His death was registered at Parkville, a Melbourne suburb, confirming his birthplace as Bendigo, and naming his parents as Patrick O'Loughlin and Mary Elizabeth Cassidy. A death notice, published in The Age, Melbourne, on 13th September 1976, says Percival Patrick O'Loughlin, late of Coburg, died 12th September at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. [4] [5]
After a Funeral Service held 14th September 1976, he was interred in the Roman Catholic section at Fawkner Memorial Park, where, in 1979, his wife joined him. [6]
