Biography

Hugh CASSIDY[1][2]

Family stories suggest that Hugh Cassidy was allegedly struck on the head during an argument while returning from a fair in Boho.[3]

DNA

Y-Chromosome DNA Confirmed
Cassidy-622's direct paternal relationship to Cassidy-1606 is confirmed because:
  1. This yDNA test of Cassidy-453 and this yDNA test of Cassidy-1188 are a close match. 35/37 match
  2. The most recent common ancestor in the yDNA line of Cassidy-453 and the yDNA line of Cassidy-1188 is Cassidy-1606.

Research Notes

Could this be the same Hugh Cassidy mentioned in relation to the Macken Fight? Unlikely given his age. Perhaps the family story is a bit confused? Perhaps Owen (this Hugh's father) may also have had a brother named Hugh and the reference was for him, although the death certificate suggests otherwise?
