"Thomas (Tommy) Cassidy and is believed to be the son of Owen's mother's brother, Thomas Cassidy. Tradition has it that Tommy was rather wild and was sent to Owen to see if he could learn to live a more useful life. He is said to have caused Owen many problems. He settled in Meeker and died there on June 24, 1949, said to have lived there for sixty years. He was aged seventy-four and was a rancher. His parents are listed as Smythe and Thomas Cassidy, and he is said to have been born in New York City on January 17, 1875. No record of this has been found. There is no recollection of his parents having been in Meeker."
