Biography
Francis was born in 1818, and baptised on 18 January 1819 in Sculcoates. His parents are listed on the baptism record as Richard (a surgeon) and Mary Frances. Francis was admitted to the College of Surgeons in October 1840. In 1845, he married Mary Harwood Richardson. He was surgeon, then superintendent of the asylum at Kingston on Hull. He and Mary had seven children: Eden Voase, Arabella Clara, Arthur William Henry, Arthur William Henry, Frances Gertrude, Frank Leaper, Harwood and Richard Casson. Francis died in 1875 at 56 years of age.
