Shadrack Monroe Casteel was born on August 26, 1838 in Missouri, United States, son of Micah Casteel (1816–<1850) and Martha Abernathy (~1811–<1850).[1]
In 1850, Shadrack (11) was living in the household of his grandmother Frances Abernathy in Brazeau, Perry, Missouri. [2]
Shadrack (28) married Alice Keller Ragland (17) (born in 1848 in Smith, Tennessee, United States; daughter of Evan Leonard Ragland and Cecile L. (Galliher) Ragland) on December 7, 1866 in Hunt, Texas.[3] Their son was Walter Leonard Casteel (1871–1943).
In 1870, Shadrach Castell was living in Hannon, Barton, Missouri. [4]
Shadrack (39) married Martha English (39) (born in 1838 in Texas; daughter of James English and Susannah Butcher) on March 25, 1878 in Hunt, Texas.[5]
In 1880, Shadrack (41) Castell was living in Justice Precinct 6, Hunt, Texas. [6]
Shadrack died on July 10, 1903 in Jackson, Oklahoma, United States, aged 64. He was buried in Warren Cemetery, Warren, Jackson County, Oklahoma.[1]
