Micah (20) married Martha Abernathy (25) (born in 1811 in North Carolina, United States) on October 1, 1837 in Perry, Missouri. Their son was Shadrack Monroe Casteel (1838–1903).
Micah died before 1850 in Missouri, aged 33. Neither he or his wife are on the 1850 census, and his children are living with his widow mother-in-law.
