Biography

Daughter of John H. Casteel and wife - NOTE: There is a John H. Casteel born 1832 in Arkansas living in St. Francis. He would have been "of age" for the Civil War. She would have been born just prior to the war, so it is possible that the 1860 Census did not capture his information, and by 1870, he was potentially a casualty of the war. Without the mother's name, it is difficult to track down additional information, unless the 1832 information can prove to be reliable. This John was the son of James and Elizabeth Casteel (both born around 1805 in Tennessee and North Carolina respectively)
