Leo Castete was born on February 9, 1910, in Louisiana, United States, to Victor Joseph Castet, Lily "Lilias" Monier.
He had two children: a son, Jesse Castete-4 and a daughter Shirley Castete-1, with Ezora Dugas-1085.
He lived in Ward Five, Evangeline, Louisiana, United States in 1920 and Justice Precinct 7, Hardin, Texas, United States in 1930. The remainder of his life he lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He worked in the rice fields until he took a job as a lineman with Gulf States Utility Company, from which he retired.
A native of St. Landry, he was a Lake Charles resident since 1942. He retired from Gulf States Utilities after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
He died on 30 November 1998, in Lake Charles, Calcasieu, Louisiana, United States, at the age of 88, and was buried in Saint Theresas Cemetery, Saint Landry, Evangeline, Louisiana, United States.
