Euphémie Castonguay was born and baptized on December 29, 1844 in Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Quebec, Canada. She is the daughter of Sylvestre Castonguay (1800-1883) and Marcelline Belanger (1804-1868).^[1]

Married Louis-Eugene Jean 8 Nov 1864.^[2]

Her first husband, Louis-Eugene Jean died suddenly 13 Sep 1866 at the age of 26. There were no known children from this union.

Married a second time to Benjamin Chouinard 24 Feb 1868 in St-Jean-Port-Joli, St-Jean, l'Islet, Quebec, Canada.^[3]
