Birth

John Caswell was born on 20 June 1772 in Littleton, Grafton, New Hampshire to Nathan Caswell Jr. (1740-1824) and Hannah Bingham (1742-1824).

Marriage and Family

On August 23 1794, he married Polly Pike (1778-1843), daughter of Daniel and Lois Pike.

  1. Louise Caswell was born on 4 October 1799 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States. She died on 28 August 1810 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States.
  2. Hannah Caswell was born on 9 July 1802 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States. She married Stephen Hoxie (1795-1877) on 8 April 1822 in Pownal, Bennington, Vermont. Hannah died after 1875.
  3. Nelly Caswell was born on 17 December 1804 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States. She married Giles Jones, Jr. (1799-1867) c. 1819. Nelly died on 18 January 1892 in Lyndon, Caledonia, Vermont, United States.
  4. Polly Caswell was born on 4 April 1807 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States. She married Horace Buck (1803-1873) c. 1824. Polly died on 15 March 1895 in Vermont, United States.
  5. John Caswell Jr. was born c. 1808 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States. He died on 16 March 1876 in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States.
  6. Anna Caswell was born on 27 September 1811 in Vermont, United States. She married Jabez Post Fargo (1813-1874) on 30 March 1837 in Huntington, Chittenden, Vermont. Anna died on 8 January 1874 in Gerry Chautauqua, New York, United States.

Death and Burial

John died on 13 July 1830 in Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont, United States at the age of 58. He was buried in Lower Waterford Cemetery, Waterford, Caledonia, Vermont. Find A Grave has a different death date and place for him than the record seen in the sources below. They give 14 March 1852 in Littleton, New Hampshire; however that does not have any record source and he didn't live in Littleton at that time.
