Bernardo Teodoro Maria Catalanotto (sometimes spelled Catalinotto), the son of Giovanni Catalanotto and Francesca Castro, is born on 9 September 1756 at 10 am in Corleone and baptized on the same day. His godparents are Francesco and Caterina Sciachitano, a married couple from Corleone.[1]
Marriage
He marries Vincenza Profita, daughter of Giuseppe Profita and Lucia Mondello, on 27 April 1778. His parents have died by this time. Vincenza's parents are both still living. It is the first marriage for both.[2][3] His brother's marriage in 1787 calls their father Stefano Catalanotto.
Bernardo and Vincenza have at least three children: Francesca (c. 1781) Lucia (c. 1790), and Emmanuele (c. 1802)
Francesca is known from the record of her death in infancy, on 6 September 1781. She is named after her paternal grandmother.[4].
Lucia marries Calogero di Rao on 21 January 1816. Her father has died by this time. This record calls her mother Vincenza Mondello. Mondello is Vincenza’s mother’s surname.[5]
Emmanuele marries Leonarda Dragna on 8 July 1822.[6]
1815 (Strada di Sorrentino, borgo), Bernardo no longer appears head of household[20]
Vincenza Catalanotto, 60 (b. 1755)
Carmelo, son, 28 (b. 1787) [incorrectly recorded, should be Emmanuele]
Lucia, daughter, 22 (b. 1793)
Death
Bernardo dies at the reported age of 57 (b. 1758) after receiving last rites. His wife, Vincenza, survives him. He is buried at the Chiesa del Carmine (Ecclesia ... Carmelitarum?). Note: On the church record, his parents' names are incorrectly recorded as Emmanuele and Lucia.[21] Their names are corrected to Giovanni and Francesca in his son Emanuele's marriage allegati from 1822.[22]
