In 2012, the 1st Battallion, The Royal New Brunswick Regiment and the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment, being the current units of the Canadian Armed Forces succeeding the 104th Regiment of Foot (formerly the New Brunswick Fencible Infantry), was awarded honours perpetuating their service in Defence of Canada – 1812-1815 – Defense du Canada and battle honours for Niagara.
