Census Day was June 1 1830

President John Q. Adams, recommended the census be conducted earlier in the year and to include the collection of age information. These changes were incorporated in the March 23, 1830 census act.

This census, fourth, was the first time pre-printed forms were used which allowed tabulation to be more efficient. This was a population count only.
