Note: This category covers the history of the unit from its formation in 1668 as Peyton's Regiment to its amalgamation, as a result of the 1881 Childers Reforms, into the Lancashire Fusiliers. That unit was amalgamated with other Fusilier regiments in 1968 to form the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
