The 37th Indiana Infantry was organized at Lawrenceburg, Indiana and mustered in for a three year enlistment on September 18, 1861 under the command of Colonel James S. Hull. Grand Review May 24. Moved to Louisville, Ky., June, and there mustered out July 25, 1865. Regiment lost during service 5 Officers and 80 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 140 Enlisted men by disease. Total 226.
