'A' Battery is the senior artillery battery of the Royal Australian Artillery. The unit has been in existence continually since 1st August 1871, having originally been raised as part of the New South Wales Colonial Military Force and has been allowed to maintain its pre-Federation title, otherwise it would be known as 100th Battery. Today it is part of the 1st Regiment, Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery, attached to the 7th Brigade based at Enoggera, Queensland. It has previously been a field artillery and an airborne artillery unit. It is currently equipped with M777A2 155mm Howitzers as a medium battery. 'A' Battery has served in the:
