This is a high-level container for certain locations categories. Voir/See Acadie. Acadie was a part of Nouvelle France between the years 1604 and 1763, although it lost a large region-- now called Nova Scotia-- to English control in 1713. The English succeeded in attaining all of Acadia by the 1763 Treaty of Paris. It was preceded by the Mi'kma'ki lands, and succeeded by Nova Scotia Colony, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton and large parts of Maine.
