Isaac Titterton (c1800-1852) is the forefather of the Aussie Titterton family.
Isaac Titterton fully paid for the misdeeds that saw him convicted in England and transported to New South Wales. There, after serving his fourteen-year sentence, he achieved a lifestyle and a legacy to hand on in New South Wales that he could never have attained in England.
Research into the surname indicates the family's origin is Staffordshire. Derbyshire or London. Prior to 1550 the surname is first found in the records of the North Staffordshire parishes of Alstonefield, Cauldon and Grindon.
Five Tittertons served in the Australian Imperial Force during The Great War 1914-19; two of whom have been linked as descendants of Isaac. Twenty-one would don their country's uniform in the Second World War.
