The initial deployment of chaplains included one Roman Catholic chaplain attached to HQ BCOF; five chaplains to HQ British Command Base (three Anglicans, one Roman Catholic and one United Churches); three chaplains to the main Austrlian occupation component, the 34th Australian Infantry Brigade (one each Anglican, Roman Catholic and United Churches); and three chaplains to the 130th Australian General Hospital (one each Anglican, Roman Catholic and United Churches). In June 1947, the establishment was increased from those twelve to eighteen chaplains; with the additional men attached to the 34th Brigade.
