The Baha'i Faith is an independent worldwide religion founded by Mirza Husayn-Ali (called "Baha'u'llah"; The Glory of God) in Tehran, Persia, in 1863. Baha'is believe in progressive revelation, the oneness of God, the unity of humanity, equality of men and women, harmony of science and religion, eradication of all prejudice, and elimination of extremes in poverty and wealth.

As of 2010, there were about 8 million Baha'is worldwide. It is considered to be the most widespread religion after Christianity.
