The earliest known documented ancestors in the Baham lineage are Jean Baptiste Baham and his parents Jean Baam and Marie Stea.

Jean Baptiste Baham arrived in Mobile, West Florida on October 2 1764 where he signed a British Oath Of Allegiance. He married Francoise Guillory and they had five adult children: René, Joseph, Baptiste , Pierre and Louis .

They moved to Louisiana in 1782 after receiving a land grant from Spain. He then founded the town of Madisonville, Louisiana.

Where Is Their Country of Origin?

According to his Will from 1807, he was born in Barlac, Gascogne, France. Barlac is a village near Mont-de-Marsan, Gascogne, and in the Aquitaine region.
