The Berwick Castle traveled from London to the Falkland Islands where some pensioners were sent as immigrants but decided to travel on to NZ. The ship stopped at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia (Van Diemans Land), dropping off Capt. & Mrs Reid and their children. It sailed on to NZ.
