Bình Dương is a province in the Southeast region of Vietnam, immediately to the north of Category: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
In 1976, three provinces of Bình Dương, Phước Long and Bình Long were merged to create Sông Bé province, which itself was split on 1 Jan 1997 into Bình Dương and Bình Phước provinces.
During French occupation, it seems that the Thủ Dầu Một province of Cochinchina (roughly) covered the area of modern day Bình Dương and the Cambodian side of Bình Phước province.
